Well, holiday weekends have a way of making a guy spend more than he intended, so I realized I had to put some money in my account before I go to work this afternoon. I work 3 p.m. to midnight and have a hard time waking up before noon or 1, so I figured I'd make a deposit before I went to sleep. Welllll, the only cash I could find enough of to cover my outstanding debits was $45 in rolled pennies. Much to my dismay when I got to the night-deposit box, I hadn't realized before that I needed a key to unlock the big drop box--and since I don't have a key, and since I knew I needed to get this cash in the bank today, I did what any normal American would do.

I dropped a few penny rolls at a time in the envelope slot.

I had never done this before because, quite frankly, I had never needed to do so, and I had no idea what the design of the envelope slot was nor how many penny rolls at a time it could accommodate. So of course I overloaded the pull-out slot and then found it wouldn't close--so I had to keep ramming the thing until it shut all the way, all the while hearing pennies dropping down as they fell out of the rolls.

At least they can't accuse me of hoarding pennies at least for today and they can't say I'm not helping replenish their coin supply for the day.

I'm only surprized that some kind of alarm didn't go off and you ended up in jail trying to explain that story to the cops.
