I found one of these in rolled change, a Benjamin Franklin Souvenir bronze coin from the Franklin Institute. Very high quality strike. No this isn't my ebay auction, I'm just posting it for the nice photo. Mine is in much better condition than this one and has a nice red patina to it. It's about twice as thick as a penny and slightly larger diameter.

Yes it was a real weird find. I also found a Bahama 1 cent starfish penny in the same batch of CWR's.

I guess my best find was in some change I received from the gas station, I thought it was a foreign coin at first, after looking at it, it was a 1864 Indian Head

wow......I've never gotten an Indian head in change . I did get silver quarter from McDonalds a few months back. A 1964 or 100 years newer than yours!

Nice find for sure. Must be worth more then a penny for sure. Maybe copper too.

Nice find for sure, may you continue with such good fortune!
My exciting finds aren't as dramatic, last night I found a 1976 that's so much brighter than Brass, I think it's a High School Gold plating experiment.

I've found a few of those also. Some of the silver coated ones could possibly be mercury. Usually from the 1960's era science experiments. I toss one or two of those in the trash as mercury is toxic to handle. Not worth it.

Don't toss them into the trash CuproNickle. You should just drop them in a container and take them to a proper hazardous waste disposal facility next time you go.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Mercury coated pennies are harmless. Let your kids play with them...the younger the better.
