Small timer here, bought my 1st piece. 1/4oz 1989 philharmonic. paid $190.00 including tax(from a local dealer who I have been working on developing a relationship with). Cheapest I could find online is $206.00 (sold out)
Thoughts?

Nothin glitters like gold, congrats. Can you give a guestimate of the diameter for ME (big as a nickel, quarter?), I am waiting on a 1/4oz gold prospector and am curious how much smaller it will be than the 1oz I already have- I know the thicknesses may not be the same but still. I have been looking at them 1/4 Phils on APMEX but I'm not ordering more till my lost package is resolved (they say it got remailed the other day sos I hope it arrives in a couple more days). Congrats on the price too. HH Mark |

Sounds like a great price! No shipping worries either. Congrats!
I think I may take a little break from silver and start looking for gold and maybe platinum for awhile. I like the looks of those 1/4 oz Phils. 'Course I'm not going to be buying anything until I take care of those bills that keep coming in the mail...can I interest anyone in a bridge? |

The 1/4 oz gold Eagle is roughly the diameter of a quarter. 22mm to 24.3 respectively. Hope that helps.

Glad you all think so, I am waiting for another check from my online poker playing and hope to pick up 2 more. He has about 12 left.
The coin is slightly smaller (I didn't measure and it's not in front of me) then a nickle, but thinner. I think I am lucky to have a decent dealer near me... Although he won't go below 15 for SML's he seems fair and has no problem answering questions. I think he has been in the business more then 40yrs. |

I just bought my first gold coin a 1/4 oz Phil for $220 plus shipping. I now have Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium. Next month Ill make my silver purchase and try for palladium the month after and then platinum and then gold.
I wanted an AGE but they are almost nowhere to be found on 1/4 oz. Phils are very nice looking so Im just as happy with my Phil |

Cant wait, my check came, another phil will soon be in my depository... Woot...
And yes they are vn coins IMHO.
With the price of gold going up and my expectation of $50.00 over spot/oz. I expect to pay approx. $212.00 (based on $760.00 spot.) No shipping... |

Woot.
Now stack is....
1/2oz of gold 102oz of silver And about $5 face of 90% I have searched out of the system...
