wf = wells fargo
To stay on topic I have not seen a roll-o-change roll but remember I'm out in the country and we don't have as many new fangled things...i.e. fewer counter and sorter machines that customers can use, also fewer shrink-wrapped/plastic wrapped rolls and more CWR or customer wrapped rolls (rolls that are wrapped in paper rolls that can just as easily be wrapped by tellers or bank employees as by customers). |

On the topic of odd rolls, I see quite a few plastic clam shell rolls here just like the ones linked above ^^^^^.
They can be bought by the bag at the dollar store. Anyway, I kind of like them because you can just load them up without counting the coins and when they come in I can pop them open really easy. Some people tape them closed, which makes them a pain to open quickly.
Conversely I really don't like them because they tend to pop open easily at the wrong time when handled. So I never refill them, just toss them in a box for the future.
I tried to deposit one filled with American dimes yesterday in the US and the teller says she can't take it. Turns out US dimes and Quarters are a little thicker then Canadian ones. She correctly predicted the Canadian plastic dime roll was 4 dimes short, and that a plastic Quarter roll would also be a few short. I already knew that US nickels are thicker. She said these only work universally for pennies, but I would question that as Canadian pennies come in at least 3 thicknesses, plus the US version.
So the moral of the story is if you see the plastic rolls that snap over, check the count because if they are made for Canadian coin you will get shorted. I'm ok buying Canadian coin in them, unless I get a roll of US coin, because if they used a US plastic wrapper I'll get extra coins. |
