Who said I was going through them? I am just good at aquiring them. If you look at my sorting percentages you can see that I am getting further and further behind. I figure boxes aquired earlier will be purer. I will get them all sorted eventually. Damn, I really need one of those Ryedale machines! If I ever get them sorted then there will be the problem of disposing of all those zinc cents. You know none of my banks is gonna be thrilled when they see me trundling a cart full of Zincolns across the parking lot to deposit into my account <G> For now I seem to just be building walls of pennies. I love having lots of pennies.. Guess I am a "true hoarder."

Went to the bank this morning to turn in some Zincs (came to $56.28) I stopped at another bank down the road and picked up 2 $25.00 boxes. Just got through sorting them to the tune of 58% coppers !! A lot of the coppers looked almost BU. I had to double check what my machine sorted because they looked so new. Anyway ... made up for my dismal 12% the other day.

20 Rolls

207 Copper
2 Wheat
1 Canadian

Had computer problems but im back on line.... 4-now LOL

See a lot of changes for the forum.....I like it !

HoardCopperByTheTon "Damn, I really need one of those Ryedale machines!"

I wonder if Ryedale would lend out 1 of his machines ?
For forum members only and maybe pay a deposit of something
like 200.00 or so and when we send it back we get part of our deposit back.....say 50.00 or so ?

Hmmm....With the price of his machines id say a deposit of
500.00 and with return of his machine get back 350.00 or 400.00

Oh-Well.....Just fleeting thoughts from an idle mind.

i think the board should buy a machine and rent it out to members on a weekly-monthly basis..i think not only could the price of the machine be paid back quickly but it'd be a good way to make some extra money for forum upgrades...or just to make some money off the forum!

Glad to see you get a winner after that batch the other day. That is a great sorting percentage. Get back to that new bank and buy several more boxes.. you have hit a main vein!!!

Just 111/700 = 15.86% the other day and 79/400 = 19.75% today for me. Found one oddity in today's rolls- a 1999 cent from Bermuda. Elizabeth II on the front, a pig on the back. Never seen one before.

I am going tomorrow ! It was an interesting selection. No Wheaties (which I always find) and 100's of 1969 and 1966 BU coins that were seemingly dumped into circulation.

Got 20 rolls yesterday. The blue-haired at the bank refused to sell me any more.

1000 total
343 copper
6 wheat
2 Canadian

35.1%

I'm going back tomorrow and see if my money is good enough for a few more rolls.

Well, we've reached page 13 of this topic and we've reached the deadline for the end of the melt ban, so I'm going to lock down this thread and star sorting percentages III. See you all there.
