I picked up 2 boxes of nickels, 1 box of dimes, and 5 rolls of halves. I just unrolled the halves and came up with a 64 in almost mint condition, and 2 clads, a 67 & 68. Its funny, over the weekend, I went through a total of 2400 halves and got ONE clad. That compared with today's find from 5 rolls. I got these at banks in a much smaller town than the one in which I live.
The last 3 boxes of dimes have been skunks. If this one is a skunk, then I am done with dimes. Wednesday I will pick up three or four hundred dollars in halves. Friday, I will get to order as many halves as I want. The lady that orders them is gonna tell me how they come. Whether its a box or a bag. I am thinking of getting $1000. Anymore than that, and it might become a hassle returning them.

Its funny, I thought I would have a tough time dumping 1/2's (well I should say I should wait and see). I opened up an acct today at another bank (dump) and told them before I opened it, "I would only be depositing change. Is that a problem?"
They said "no problem" Well we will see how ~ $500.00 in 1/2's go.
I will definatly give trip report on this.
And by the way I did open wiht a deposit of $500.00 in dimes. :) |

I use a desklight and I look at the sides. If its silver it will stick out like a sore thumb, otherwise you see just copper tints. It takes me like 30min to sort a box. |

| yeah I guess that isn't too bad if you're just looking at the sides. If your getting the paper rolls it shouldn't take ya a half hr to slide out and slide back in though. |

Naw I don't slide them back in. I just take them loose to my new dump bank.
It's not hard to unroll the rolls either, Use a small screwdriver pop open the ends (where the roll starts) and unroll. If you wish to roll back, the roll roll still be in good shape. |

Update: In an earlier post I said I was skunked of the dimes. I had given all those plastic wrapped rolls a once over and I didn't think I saw any silver. Well, a little over half way in to a more thorough search and I did find a 1947. Not a big score but it doesn't take much to make me happy. I also got 5 clad halves today from today's half purchases. I am running out of nearby towns with banks.
