don't answer if you are sensative about it, but just interested In how much people have tied up in copper coins, before I started sorting coins when I was a teen I used to buy bags of pennies as a method of saving because it's hard to spend lots of pennies without the hassles of changing them, so it stopped me spending my savings if I was a bit broke. Anyway, so I used to have a few 100 bags of pennies in the old days, so I'm thinking to aim for that with copper, but I'm guessing some of you have a few k in copper

I only have about 200 dollars in Cu, but I *gasp* haven't sorted in a while. I don't think my roommates would appreciate it . However, I am piling up unsearched boxes for later. |

I have no idea how much copper I've got. I'm too lazy to run it through the high speed counter. I'm still trying to figure out a good way to sort the light Canadians from the Heavy Canadians from the US Copper. At least I don't have to figure out how to seperate any indians since those just do not exist.
Oh I've got CuNi and Ni too.
Storage space is really not a big deal. Look at the penny project linked at the bottom of the forum for any idea how much space pennies really take. |

In addition to my 95% pictures of Lincoln, differing portraits of HRH, various lengths and diameters of tubing and pipes, motor starter teeth, buss bars and wire ends, I'd have to agree with Kurr. Not enough! I'm pretty sure I could not move my CU hoard with only trip in the back of my 1 ton pickup. I wish I could say the same about my supply of other metals |

I've only got a few bags. Of course I use really big bags.. the same ones the mint delivers coin in.
I have to agree with Kurr.. it is never enough! |

Why would I want to move them? Those forklifts are really expensive.. we have several of them at work. |

| To Moboman and Legacypac. The wild indians do exist. I was buying a box of pennies one day and I noticed a guy unloading a bunch of rolled ones. After putting my box of pennies in my truck, I went back in and asked to buy all the pennies that gentleman had just turned in. There were wheats and one very good condition 1904 indian. Not a rare one but I'll take it. |

| Barely over $300 but doing it by hand and on my spare time. Plus I've been looking for errors in my zincs so it takes longer. |

That just proves my point. You got a tame indian because some dude turned in his collection of wheats and one tame indian. Nice pickup though. |
