I went to the scrap yard today to turn in a small bit of stuff. My yard has started some new security precautions that are kind of severe. First I had to get a ticket as I was pulling in. (As I had parked out front I had to go get my truck), then when I got paid, I had to scan my thumbprint and sign on one of those eletronic signiture things! I know there's a lot of theft, but crap I've been going there for at least a year and a half and they already have all my info in the computer. Just seems like overkill to me.
Really? They make you scan your thumbprint?? When I went to get my concealed pistol permit, I didn't even like the thought of the cops having my fingerprints....let alone a scrap yard.
What state do you live in? Do you know if the state requires them to keep those kinds of records??
Those who trade liberty for security have neither.
Here in my part of Missouri, they I.D. you at the scale and at the pay window again. Over $500 they pay by check. I bring my own security....

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams
