Here are a few shots of the extruded aluminum I took off our old windows we just had replaced.

I took off all the tar, screws and other things, but as you can see in the photos (I hope) at the seams they welded it. I am not sure if it is extruded aluminum as well or perhaps zinc??

Should I cut these parts off or am I most likely safe to assume I will get clean prices?

Thanks to all!

Not sure. Couldn't hurt to cut those sections out and separate them.

The most common stuff used to weld aluminum is an alloy that is about 94% aluminum and 5% magnesium with small percentages of other stuff to make up the last 1%. In other words, don't bother trying to take it off.

Rule number one when scrapping Aluminum:
If it sticks to a magnet toss it out of the Aluminum pile!
Horgad is 100% correct about "welded" Aluminum.
I'd bet you're good to go with what you got.
