From the New York Post today:

You must be logged in to see this link.

Excerpt,

JPMorgan finally unloaded a two-story Colonial at 139 Blackford Ave. The bank repossessed the house in May from an owner who owed $377,265 and then sold it in July for $172,380.

Way to go Congress!!! Knowing the knuckleheads we've got in charge down there, they'll buy the sludge a full face value, sell it at one third, and the 1/3 they recover will be MORE than consumed in RED TAPE!

OBTW, every source I read and trust says $700B is just the tip of the iceberg

Unfortunately, the $700 Billion is only the down payment.
Much like a sub-prime loan, wait until the reset kicks in.

The most common figure being thrown around is 1.3 trillion dollars ($1,300,000,000,000).
And even that will prove to be just the tip of the iceberg.
Ouch!

The government isn't going to buy the loans at face value. If they bought the loan for $150,000, then they made $22,000 before red tape expenses.

`Everybody is ignorant. Only on different subjects.' Will Rogers

"This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists' tirades against gold. Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the "hidden" confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious process. It stands as a protector of property rights. If one grasps this, one has no difficulty in understanding the statists' antagonism toward the gold standard." Alan Greenspan, 1966.

If we're lucky, they won't buy any at all. Why would any other party bid on assets once the Gov places a bid? And if only one party bids, how can they possibly establish fair market value?

Way too many unanswered questions, way too much leeway for Paulson and his pals w/ ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY.

Sonofabitch. I'm watching MSNBC right now and it's passing more than 2 to 1. Bend over and assume the position!

One thing is for sure, no longer can the Dems say the republicans cater to wall st. and the rich.
I think this has proven that the game is the same for both sides, Especially since more Dems voted for it than republicans.
