We were at Goodwill looking at stuff to make Hallowe'en costumes from yesterday. I found a brass tray with a Russian maker's mark. I can't read it, everything is in Cyrillic.

Does anyone here have any knowledge about Russian made brass? It's a nice tray, about 12" across, no dings or scratches. Paid $1.99.

Sounds cool. Sorry I can't help.

This article has some info on Russian brass. How about a picture? You could always send a pciture to Christys Auctions in NYC . They will look at it and let you know if its something rare. I've done this before with a piece of copper I had. Try looking on ebay also.

I've got a guy in my office that speaks Russian - email me a photo and I'll find out what is says at least.

WOW!!! Great find!!!!

Some Russian brass is very expensive. I would NOT be in a hurry to sell your tray. I have heard SOME Russian brass is very valuable.
