Just came across a 1909 VDB and 1943 steel penny tonight in my sorts. Both are in good condition, nothing outstanding. I really think the old coin jars are getting emptied lately.
I am also finding many near AU quality pennies from 1961 to 1972 in this sort. Especially 1968. It is as if 40 year old bank rolls are being dumped into the market all of a sudden. Strangely encouraging. Another milestone tonight too. Found a dime mixed in with my Brinks penny rolls. That is a first. The other day I found a bent penny in my plastic nickel rolls.
I got 5 43 steel on Saturday and one on Sunday after only seeing about 5 in the previous 6 months. At one time I had found more Indian Heads than steel pennies.
I found another steel penny today- three days in a row! The one today was in pretty good shape as where the others I had found recently were pretty nasty.
Congrats on the fates smiling your way. If you get good luck, push it! At least buy more rolls and put a dollar down on the Lotto. You never know, somebody's gong to find that '09 VDB S and someone will hit the magic numbers eventually.
