While sorting the other day I came across a coin that looked kind of strange. Looking closer I saw that it was pretty well off center. On the sid eby the date, the coin almost chops off the last number. The other side has a very noticeable flat spot. Needless to say I kept that one. I also found a blank planchet awhile back.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams
I love finding planchets and errors. Its really hard to put a value on them but any error will carry a pretty good premium. Could you post some pic's for us?
