I usually fine 3-5% Canadian pennies while sorting. In a $50 bag I might find 1-2 George VI cents (1937-1952). Today I found my first George V cent (1920-1936).
Has anyone else found any of these?

good job - I do not think I've found one of those in Canada yet in all my sorting. Here is a repost of info I put up several weeks ago
Huxby's 2008 Coins of Canada lists following retail values (what you might expect to pay a dealer) for Canadian Pennies:
1920 through 1936 except as noted are in the range of G-4 $0.20 to BU-63 $100.00-$350 Most expensive: 1923 G-4 24.00 BU-63 $3,050 Other key dates: 1922, 1925 Semi-key worth $1.00 to $4.50 in G-4 condition are 1924, 1926, 1930, 1931
However I have yet to find a 1936 or prior penny in circulation since they feature a differant design and are picked out long ago.
1937-1952 feature George VI and are listed as in VG-8 at 10 cents to 40 cents. 1944 seems to be the key date - worth up to $150 in Red BU-63
Elizabeth II Laureate Effigy 1953-1964 (young queen) Now the premiums start with F-12 coins and run 0.10 to 0.35 cents. They exception is the whole shoulder fold/no fold varieties of 53-55. If you are interested there are online resources about these - and it was on all the denominations.
Beyond the young queens, the only premium values shown are for BU coins. This includes the Rock Doves. There was a lettering variation in 1985 that might be worth something, but I don't look for it.
You found a '36 the last year they were made. Worth maybe a $0.25 in rough condition - more as the condition improves.

I found one once about 6 years ago in pocket change.
Very rare bird like it's ethereal brother the Indian head.

Do these coins ever have a wheat penny value status in Canada?
As here you can walk 5000 common date wheats into any coinshop and get about 3 cents each. and about .75 cents for common date indians.
Does a old king (pre-1936), young king (1937-1953), and young queen (1954-1964) have these kind of flat prices at a coin shop? |

If they are in EF to AU shape you can get about $4-5 each for em. They are much much rarer than most wheats I pay about $0.25 each for em.

Actually, it was a 1932. I know it is one of the most common that they made, but it was one that my 9 year old was missing from his Whitman. He will get it some day when he has been extra good.

| I have a 1928 that I know of for sure. I need to go back through my canadian pennies because I think I have seen more. In Michigan we see quite a few Canadian coins. |

| Found a 1938 George the other day. Darn thing was damaged with clip marks on the rim. I find Canadians all the time in my rolls. I can almost believe that US folks would not pay much attention to dates on them as they blend in like any other Canadian penny? |

I pay good attention to them- they are obvious and stick out like a wild indian. I have a 31 and a couple others somewhere. I really like the design of the old kings. Nice coins! |
