Copper may decline next week as some workers ended nationwide strikes in Peru, the world's third- largest source of the metal.
Nine out of 17 analysts and traders surveyed yesterday and July 2 forecast copper will decline next week. Seven expected an increase and one was neutral. Copper for delivery in three months on the London Metal Exchange has risen 0.7 percent so far this week, after a 1.1 percent increase last week.
Workers at three mining operations in Peru, including at Southern Copper Corp.'s Ilo smelter, ended a strike yesterday after the government said the action was illegal.
The protest began June 30 for greater profit share and improved pension.
