A local restaurant in Uxbridge, MA called the rooster 'n Kettle will be closing its doors for good soon, another victim of the economy. The rooster 'n Kettle was originally a mansion built in the early 1800's by a veteran of the Revolutionary War. For thirty-seven years, the rooster 'n Kettle Restaurant (opened by the Sampson family in 1971) has catered to mostly upper-class clients and has been the place to go in the area if you wanted an up-scale meal. This sad event does not seem to bode well for the local economy.

Sad news, interesting name....

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

The thing about restaurants is that they come and go with quite a bit of regularity...although according to your post this one has been in business for a few years...will be interesting to see how many more begin to close in the next few months.

I think a lot more restaurants, movie theaters, and other places that you don't have to go to will be closing when gas gets to $5.00. You have to put gas in your car and heat your house but you don't have to go out to eat or go to a movie.

COPPER - the "poormans" precious metal!!!

SELLING - $100.00 face copper shipped to you for $189.00 machine rolled or bagged - PM me if your interested.

Yeah--sit down some time and figure out how much per mile it is costing you in just gas (not even wear and tear) to go anywhere any more--it is not a pretty picture--might make for a comeback for the "local pub" -- a place in your neighborhood you can actually walk to--also the local market--time will tell....

It would be great to get some of these big chains out, and go back to small mom and pop places...
