Was thinking of putting in a larger order but cringe at the thought of the ladies having to move all those coins. Was wondering if I ordered say 50 boxes could I just have them call me when the truck showed up and instead of putting them into the vault just giving them to me?I know that may have to take place in the bank due to security but when he wheeled them in I could just load them onto my cart(or just use his) and wheel them back out? They like me at th bank so I know they would go a little out of their way to help, but is this too much?

Do you really want to be that visible around other customers? I've been making most of my bulk penny pickups on Fridays because of my work schedule, but I pick up from 8-10 different branches and leave the bricks in my trunk until after dark so nobody will see what I'm carrying in the house. Granted, it's a much bigger pain in the rear to rob someone for $1000 and have to cart away 40 bricks of pennies than 10 C-notes, but do you really want to be on anyone's radar like that other than with bank personnel?

I wheel in boxes on a dolly, also return loose this way as well. The boxes are inside these stackable boxes. Never had a problem, but I'm one of those people who are usually on semi-high alert anyway. Plus I exercise my right to protect myself....

I think as long as the bank can inventory them right away if they have to, and you are prepared to wait for them to do it, there should be no problem. Especially if you have a good relationship with them.

If your little town is like the little town where I grew up, everyone already knows your name and what you are up to anyway.

"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

Same here. I live outside of a borough with a population of about 3000. Everybody out here in the township, and most people in town, know everybody else, either directly or indirectly. It's nice because people help each other out in times of need. Just don't do anything stupid, 'cause everybody you see at the post office / bank/ etc. will know about it.

A couple years ago I got a call from a complete stranger looking to sell stuff on eBay. She had heard from a friend of a relative that heard at church that I was selling stuff on 'teh internets' or something like that. I've also done computer work for several people that heard somewhere or another that I worked on them. Occasionally it can be annoying but I'll take a small town over a city any day

I wished I lived in a small town. Or maybe outside a small town, even better....

where's up here? I keep moving to small towns and they turn into big towns within a few years. I can't figure it out. City people come to where I am and suddenly there's strip malls and Lowes, and Walmarts. Not only that, but I see you can take a person out of the city, but you can't take the city out of a person.

To keep faith with the original post, I once went in to pick up an order when the truck arrived. They just set my boxes on the counter as the teller requested and I took them from there with no teller handling.

Three very important questions!
1) Where is here?
2) How do the banks treat you?
3) What % CU do you get?

and not necessarly in that order.

And just when you think you got it automated somebody will probably steal your snow blower!

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

I live just outside a small town with one blinking light! However, the bigger town just south of us is trying desperately to overtake us. Time to move farther out.

Are you throwing that out?

The town I live outside of has two lights. There are several highways that run through town (everybody hates the traffic). The town is right where two branches of the river join so it's natural that the highways following the rivers intersect in town. They were supposed to start building a bypass 15 years ago but that project is still pending federal dollars. They sure can spend it, just not on the right things...

About 15 minutes away two highways run together and there are a whole bunch of stores and restaurants (Wal-Mart, a shopping mall, a couple strip malls, grocery stores, a dozen fast food joints, etc). There is another gigantic mall type thing under construction too. When I get my own place I want it further up on the mountain

I live on Grand Island NY.About 20K people and the town Is making sure it stays around that number. No chance of any big stores. It's an Island so they have some control.Crime is nil.
If you have AWD or 4WD no need to shovel.Or you can pay someone $200 a year and they plow it for ya.Temp is rarely over 90(never hit 100) and no hurricanes, tornadoes, floods to ever worry about. Most summer days are 80 and sunny.Due to the greenhouse effect, the weather up here is actually getting very nice.Unlimited water supplies for life and if you make 100K a year, you can live like a king.

So, the real question is the employment situation. Any jobs? Especially the 100k a year ones....You will have a new neighbor.

There are jobs anywhere if people look hard enough.
Deal, you afraid of heights? If not I can show you where to get an application for a job that starts at $20 an hour and $40 an hr after 3 yrs and at times all the overtime you could ever stand. After the 3 yrs YOU tell them When YOU want to work or even in what state. My Buddy made over $5k one week and has a record(weed poss.) and a GED.As of June 1st he was at $55k and he says its been kind of slow this yr.Average person make $140K.
Lots of jobs up here with starting pay at $15 an hour and you can build a nice house for $150K with a decent lot all day long

Afraid if heights, no. Sounds like a sweet deal. I have been thinking about maybe relocating. What exactly does your buddy do?
