Is $22.00 a fair price for, say, common silver eagles? I realize the price of spot is 17.36 but the mint sells em for 25.

Should i get one, just a few, all I can grab at this price?

I am just getting into silver and am looking for a bit of buying education.

No, that is high. There is a premium over spot for them but certainly not that high.. even at retail. Usually the more you are buying at once, the better per unit price. I'm sure a member here would give you a better price than that.. I know I would.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

Wow,

Thank you, I do have a local dealer that I remember saying 12:1 on junk, and 100+lbs maybe $100-rolled in wheats at $2 a roll, I'll save my money and ask him.

Big national flea market/festival/National Muzzle Loader Association shoot going on this week near me, all in the same place. Few more coin booths I have yet to check out!!

Thanks Again

I can get them locally here for about $1-$1.50 over spot tax free. If you would like, I can get some for you.

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

Kurr,

I've never used these guys, but people over at treasurenet can't say enough good stuff about 'em.

You must be logged in to see this link.

As of a few minutes ago, their price for one 2008 BU Silver Eagle was $19.50.

I found out about these guys from this forum. I have yet to see cheaper prices online, but I have not personally bought from them (yet). Also--their shipping charges seem very reasonable.

Another place that seems to have great prices, but I have not bought from is the Northwest Territorial Mint:

They do have a large minimum order though.

Hope this helps. BTW: I paid way to much on my last order of Eagles because I didn't know what I now know from helpful members of this forum.

Run, don't just walk, away from NWT mint.

Terrible reputation and shipping fulfillment.

I just placed an order with casper coins. They had a good price on the things I got, so we'll see if I get them. Paying with PayPal is a nice option.

I will. They are only about 5 hours away from me, so hopefully I will get my order Tuesday.

Hi,

I've heard the same thing about NWT Mint. Their 'focus' is on medallions and stuff - not PM. And us PM bugs want our stuff NOW! NOW! NOW! NOW!

And well, they aren't that quick with stuff. And that makes people angry...

They're in my neck of the woods, and (luckily?) haven't had any problems with them - but I always deal with them face to face.

AJPM.Com has ASE's for $2.25 over spot. $20 for shipping. If you order 1000 oz or more, shipping is free...
