I asked this as a side-question in the main forum, but I'll ask it again here, since it goes well with this forum:
Is there any places that will buy the cupro-nickel that US nickels are made out of? Supposedly it's used in a lot of marine applications that are exposed to salt water.
I talked to a couple of local scrap dealers today to see if they are buying scrap cupro-nickel. One did not know what I was talking about and gave me her boss's voice mail. Another told me he would have to check prices and get back to me. Sill another said I would have to talk to her boss and he was going to be back tomorrow. She asked me how I knew it was cupro-nickel? I didn't tell anyone I wanted to sell nickels though. Why give them the idea that they can go get them themselves
