Is it safe to say that if you see a paper roll of pennies with a 2007/2008 showing on one end and a BU penny on backside on tails that the inside coins are all 2007/2008's?
I broke a few rolls open that had 2008's showing and they were all 08's...but is it that way every time?
It is never completely safe. But that is generally what you will find. You can always check the roll on the scale. If there are mixed coins inside it will show on the scale unless they are all zinc. Sometimes you will get a solid box of one date, sometimes it will be BU rolls mixed in with circ rolls. If you check the box weight before opening you can tell if it is a solid zinc box.
