Any suggestions on what to do if for some reason I am unable to pick up an order? I don't know anyone in my new hometown well enough yet to give them several hundred dollars and ask them to pick up pennies for me in the event that I can't. And I figure I'm not the only hoarder in such a situation.

Try calling them and telling them there is a problem. But, you should make every effort to pick them up in a timely fashion.

I'd call them, explain the situation, apologize for any inconvenience, thank them for their understanding, and then make the pick up as soon as possible. |

I agree with what everyone else here says. Call so they are not sitting there waiting for you all day. You want to maintain a good relationship with the coin teller and communication is key. Let them know exactly when you will pick up the order. When you pick it up it is not a bad idea to take chocolates. Also, be sure to thank them for their understanding and the inconvenience. Be careful to not allow this situation to occur more than once. Vault tellers are usually female and you can guess how ladies feel about being stood up for a date. If the real reason you can't pick up is because you miscalculated cash flow, then cash in some of your unsorted boxes at another bank so you can pick up your order on time. Your relationship with the teller at your source bank is much too valuable to jeapordize. |
