Yesterday I found a 2003 five dollar bill with the serial 45454555. People call them "binary" bills, where only two numbers are used. I don't know if theres a premium for this kind of thing, but I see them at shows all of the time. Anyone know?

I'm not a currency person but if I were you I'd have run out to a lottery counter, if you have a lottery where your at, and bought several dollars worth of lottery tickets using the numbers 4 and 5. That would be something like 4, 5, 44, 45, 54, or combinations like 4+5=9, 5-4=1, 4+4+4+4=16. Probably would win nothing but anything is worth a try. |

| Depending on the condition, they could be worth a few dollars over face although I wouldn't get too excited. There is a dealer ( e-mail:macurrency@aol.com ) who buys that stuff. If you're handling a lot of currency, email for his' buy list. For this he's indicating about $8 over face for unc note, so you might do better on ebay. The list will give you ideas of other things to look for though. Good luck! |
