Eat squirrels They're everywhere! And you can take them out very discreetly with a good pellet gun, even in residential areas.
BTW, before any animal lovers get on my case, ....they are rodents, cute maybe, but still rodents. Anyone have a good recipe for seagulls? (rats with wings, in my book)
Exactly. I call them tree rats. I bet there are literally 100 of those damn creatures out back.... I'm not eating them, unless I had to. Yes, I have tried it. All they do is chew everything, and mess with my dog. Delawhere Jack, you and your pellet gun are welcome....

Today, Spam sales are soaring; grocery stores can't keep it on the shelves. Everyone is looking for cheaper ways to feed their families.
It somehow never ceases to amaze me just how little thinking some people do. At $3.49/lb, you can spend less for ham steaks, boneless chicken breasts, and hamburger at Costco. i don't know why the price of chicken breasts fluctuates so much... $1.99 on sale is great, but when it's not on sale you can pay $4.59 or more for the same product. Weird.
One thing that i've also been seeing more often at the grocery store is that the "bulk" package of some items is actually MORE expensive per unit than the smaller packages. Gotta watch those guys. |
Considering Verizon Business service? Perhaps you'd like to consider a nice drain cleaner enema instead? |

I've got an oak tree in the backyard that has just started producing acorns. The little "tree rats" are in rat heaven. I've got a family of them that have taken residence in the eaves over my front porch.
I'll have to admit. I've waited until the latest pups(?) are grown enough to leave the nest. Now it's getting soaked with repellant. ($12 for 32oz, 1/10th of 1% capsicum)
I've never had squirrel, but if it's anything like muskrat I'll pass |

You guys haven't had squirrel? I haven't had it in a long time. Our 8 year old killed two this fall out at my mom's house. She fried them up for him and made biscuits and squirrel gravy.
I wasn't sorry to have missed those meals. |

I have had it. Only had it smoked though. It was pretty tough and gamey (sp?). I'll stick to the fairly basic foods....

Yes, squirrel is dark and gristly. It's hard to find a squirrel with some fat on him. :)
One time my great-grandfather caught a possum and made possum stew, just so we could see what it tasted like. Oh gosh, that was the greasiest, nastiest, slimiest stuff ever. Even the carrots and potatoes were coated in slime. Baagh, I can still taste it!
Delawhere Jack, I've never had muskrat. But it probably tastes a lot like possum. :) |

Squirrel & Rabbit - use shake and bake and don,t cook too long,Tastes pertty good if you do it right.
Muskrat - Very red meat, slightly greasy (kinda like a fish duck),they are herbivores, only ate one once though.
Best way to prepare meat from a less than palatable critter is to stew it with lots of vegetables. (works good with fish ducks)
But don't worry , you'll eat anything if your hungry enough. |
