while sorting pennies i found a coin on the obverse(i think its the obverse) is a falcon(i think) with a swastika under it, from 1943, then on the reverse(i think) is a big 5. i am not good at all with foreign coins, could some one please tell me what it is worth. I'm pretty sure it is common, and only worth maybe 10-50 cents, but if I'm wrong please tell me.

Under the eagle is a mint code ie: A, B, C, etc. If you have a B your a winner at $30.00 for a V copy.

Other than that is it is maybe worth $0.25 to $0.75.

I pay $1 for them plus shipping.

Being a World War II fanatic, I have many forms of currency from the time period. While I do not believe in the Nazi ideology, the coins they produced during that time are my favourite. Nice find. Would look nice with my others....

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

I actually sold one of mine on eBay (I think I may have one left - I'll look later). I felt kind of guilty for owning it. And yet I continue to compulsively buy both 1/72 and 1/18 scale WWII military toys!? I've also still got an obvious replica of a Hitler Youth knife that I bought while in Switzerland (it's an exact copy, but it has a Swiss Cross instead of the Swastika). It's simple in design, yet it's a truly awe-inspiring piece. I really got hassled by customs on both ends (imagine what would happen nowadays), yet I got to keep my knife!

I have a few of the coins produced by the Vichy government. Instead of "Republic Francaise" they say "Etat Francais". The motto "liberte, egalite, fraternite" was replaced with "travail, familie, patrie" as well.
I wouldn't feel guilty about having any Nazi coins. I have somehow ended up with a fair amount of coins from a variety of sub-Saharan African nations whose regimes I find . . . well, abhorrent, to put it mildly. But the coins are nice. It's all about the coin!

The website above is pretty informative -- he seems to have a lot of coins in stock. There's a stocklist here: You must be logged in to see this link.

It doesn't mean that he'll pay those prices, but that's what they sell for. I'd hang on to it, though. That's a neat coin.
