I am currently doing sorting manually. No Ryedale just yet. I am setting aside 1983 pennies along with 1982. I figured I might as well as there is a slight chance I might come across a copper one (better chance meeting Elvis?). Since I am sorting the '82 out anyway, just as easy to throw '83 ones in there too. Also, I just learned there is a double die error on 1983 pennies. Maybe many years had double die errors? I will tell you, it interesting to see what one can find. I still am looking for a 1943 steel penny. Not one found yet.
I don't think it's worth it. I've bounced around 500 off the table now and same old thud. I also drive my eyes insane staring at 1995's that looke like double dies. There are hundreds of errors you could search for, but I think the time involved makes it not worth the effort.
All my '83's are collected. In the zinc return pile....

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams
I've sorted about $750 by hand so far and not one '83 copper. I don't pull them out anymore. The '82's are great though. I weigh them off and I'm getting a good 80% copper!
