Are any of the statehood qts worth collecting/hoarding. It seems to me that the Delaware are a little scarce, so I keep those. Any thoughts?

| I've made out very well with my Delaware PF 69 UC (bought for $25). Also, the 1999 silver set looks to be getting hotter all the time (I'll be picking one up in a few weeks)! |

Statehood quarters look a great deal like the bicentennial quarters when it comes to collectability. I'm not sure there's going to be an easy payday if you're investing for a big profit. If you just plain enjoy collecting them, then by all means do so.
Silver proof sets might pan out. I was fortunate enough to snap up a silver 1999 set from the mint and watch it run up in price to the $300-$400 range. The 2001 silver proof looks to be the other "key" in the series. At least with the silver content, you have another value play besides the numismatic angle.
Another possibility is to try to get your hands on errors and varieties. The big one is the extra-leaf Wisconsin quarter (two different types). |

Since the quarter program started, I've bought several of each silver proof set. The '99 and '01 sets are definitely the keys. But, I like silver....

| Just to many people hoarding those things to ever make them worth a lot. Possibly in about 30 or 40 years they may be worth a little but I don't think there is any real monitary reason to hoard them. |

Yep two actually...one is a high extra leaf and one is a low extra leaf in the cornstalk. |

You can tell that the economy is getting sour as there's an abundant supply of UNC or nearly UNC statehood quarters in circulation now. I'm talking about the ones from 1999 through 2004 that had been squirreled away in hopes of a fantastic price increase. I surmise that people are raiding their hoards to pay for their higher gasoline and food expenses (after taking them to their favorite dealer and finding out that they're only worth face value).
Can the quarters and use the cash to buy physical gold or silver. |
Here in Wisconsin, we have some of the highest property and gasoline taxes in the US. We're squeezed so much, I have to make my daughter wear penny boxes for shoes. At least she has an endless supply. |
