If by chance the Mint is pumping out steel cents next May how will this effect our hobby?

Are steel cents something to root for?

Is there a down side?

Silver..poor mans gold
Copper..peasant silver

I'm guessing no large or drastic effect.
It may make zincers more desirable and coppers more valuable in a numismatic sense.
I'm sure each year they issue them will dilute the copper & zinc pool by similair %'s since 1982.
Corrosion will be a big issue.
They won't be real easy to find with a metal detector but I leave zinc pennies in the ground anyway.

Beer is my currency.

Hard to say exactly the effect, but certainly it will lead to more copper cent hoarders. I am personally indifferent to whether they go with a steel cent or if they stick with the zinc/copper mix as either way I will continue to hoard coppers at the level I am now.

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.
