I finally hit a milestone of 1,000,000 pennies through the Ryedale. Thank you Andy for such a great toy! This all started Oct. 07.

Here's my hole in the garage where it all happens.

The counter at an even million:

My storage scheme - 6- 20 lb. UPS bags to a bucket:

11 buckets in the barn = 1,320 lbs. My total is 1,328 lbs. from a million pennies.

6000 wheats - I got lucky on 2 bags that had over 3,000 in them. I don't count the wheats in my copper totals.

A dansco album with only 25 more slots to fill:

Last but not least - prize finds - 6 - IH's and a silver six pence!

Thanks for looking!

Beer is my currency.

WINNER WINNER WINNER.....

Ok you didn't really win anything, but good job on your 1,000,000 through your Ryedale. I'm thrilled to see it, and you're using the machine as it is intened. You have "put up" 1320lbs of copper pennies which easily offsets the cost of the machine. Thanks for the great documentation.
NICE USE OF THE EXTENSION HOPPER TOO.
Andy

I'm at half that and certainly dont have half the wheats you've got. I might have like 7 bucks worth. And still waiting for the first Indian Head.

Nice. Great to reach your goal. What's next?

Congratulations on your great haul!

Now stop sorting and leave some copper for the rest of us ;)

Naw, keep on keeping on 'till you've run out pennies to sort!

Is that a TV flicker I see in the picture?

That is quite a set up. Nice hoard too. One of my first questions when I joined this forum was what amount qualifies for a hoard. Whatever that amount is, TXTim definitely has it. I am about done counting pennies to fill the $50 mint bags. The mint bags look cool, but it is a time consuming process. I like the idea of storing copper in containers of some sort.

"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

Thanks guys!

Is that a TV flicker I see in the picture?

It sure is- I took the picture by the beer fridge next to the TV!

What do you think you could sell that Dansco album for on E-bay??

I don't know - I'd like to fill it someday and I'm always improving it with better pennies that I find. it has a good heft to it with all that copper in there.

NICE USE OF THE EXTENSION HOPPER TOO.

Thanks Andy - I put that thing together out of plywood and a cigar box. It sits on the edge of the table and I put the Ryedale on top of it. I clamp bags onto the chutes or let the pennies fly into an open bucket. It makes things a little louder but that means I can hear it if it jams from long distance.

Nice. Great to reach your goal. What's next?

That's what I'm wondering - what will the next million bring?

"No goals here - just pure unadulterated entertainment!"

What consenting adults do for entertainment is their own business............but once they bring kids into penny sorting............well, that's where I draw the line.
