For those who sort alot of pennies would sand bags work good for storage? I think they are pretty cheap.

I don't see why not. I've never used them.

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

A while back I posted a link to a company that sells sand bags. They were rather cheap but you had to buy 1,000. They also sold cloth coin bags too. But I think if you could get ahold of some sand bags that would be the way to go. I like cloth bank bags but they scream "Coin hoard" if a service repairman or someone is in your house and sees them. Sand bags much look more like you have metal parts or what not in them. They are very strong too.

We use them at work and buy them by the bale. Not burlap but woven plastic. They are tough but you would need to use a plastic bag liner inside because they are very porous and would let moisture in.

Beer is my currency.

You must be logged in to see this link. This outfit also has cotton bags which are cheaper and prettier than poly bags. They are $300 per thousand. I think I would stencil a big $ on them!

Most metals except copper and its alloys may be used with vinyl chloride. Copper and its alloys could form explosive acetylides by reacting with the acetylene impurity in the product.

From the MSDS for vinyl chloride.

Sounds like you should avoid any plastic containing PVC for storing copper. Stick a hot copper wire into the plastic, then stick the wire into a flame. (A Bic lighter will do.) A green flame indicates chloride.
