I've found a 1909 and a 1909 vdb, but no 1909 s or 1909 vdb s.

I do have a 1919 s that I put in the same drawer with the '09 vdb.

Maybe the s will rub off on it :)

I did! But it was in a little baggie of wheat cents that I paid 3 cents each for. Does it still count?

I say it counts since the bag was obviously 'unsearch'.

Hoard - where did you buy that little baggie, if you don't mind me asking? Was it on Fleabay or from a little old lady at the market? I would say it definitely counts!!

That was the funny thing.. I wasn't quite sure where I bought it. I didn't know if it had been sitting on that shelf for 3 months or 3 years. I think I probably bought it at a coin show from some coin dealer that knows I will always buy wheat cents. The little baggie only had about 30 wheat cents in it. I probably paid a dollar for the whole baggie.

The 1909 S-VDB is the only Lincoln cent I haven't found in the wild. And I'm not holding my breath about finding one, either.

The one I found was an XF.. about a $1200 coin.

I almost bought a Gobrecht dollar once misteroman. It had been holed and repaired. I still kick myself for not buying that coin when it was available.

And I suppose I do get lucky sometimes. Found 2 silver dimes today.. one the easy way when searching 12 rolls of bank wrapped dimes, and 1 the hard way.. in a brinks wrapped roll of pennies. Those silver dimes are way tougher to find than Indian cents or steel cents.

I got a 1909 S last year but it was in such bad condition it might have been VDB but I could not tell. You could only make out the 1909 S under a strong glass.

Selling Ryedale sorted USA cents
1.5 each + shipping over 500fv 1.5 each +1/2 shipping
If you pick up 1.35 each
located MT/ND boarder.
after Ryedale sorting they are hand sorted to remove canadian then rechecked with Ryedale to insure all copper and count out $50 FV then placed in cloth bags and sealed with #1 copper wire.

I found a 1909 last night but I guess rubbing against all those other coins knocked off all the good letters. No S and no VDB.

Found a 1909 VDB in mint condition on my paper route in 1980. Got it in change from a tight wade customer who paid in pennies. Me and Dad collected wheats and we were both thrilled. Put it in one of the old cardboard type coin albums and still have it today.
