Peak oil in the U.S. That is to say we have alott more than "they" say we do. I am not one given to "conspiracy theories", I like hard facts. I also like to look at both sides of things and this guy has said and offered some things that are compelling. I have not done the normal ammount of vetting I usually do before posting something like this and will update as I find out more.

That was a very good short read.

There are many many wells across America that are capped off.

It's called energy suppression.

( our government or shadow government is very good at it )

Control energy and you can control the country.
Control food and you can control the people.

It does not take a genius to see were this is all going.

Thanks for the story

There is no conspiracy. The world is overcrowded with people that want it ALL at the same time that the resources of the earth are being depleted. Gone? No. However, the second half of everything we need is much more difficult and expensive to extract from the ground (any existing wells can only come on-line as prices increase dramatically - proving that they were/are economically unsound reserves). All supposed alternative energies are worthless on the scale needed for empire(s), even if they were to be combined. A New World Order based on economic Darwinism is upon us. That is why we need to continuously build our Strategic Oil Reserve.

All supposed alternative energies are NOT worthless on the scale needed for empire(s),

We are only told what alternative energies are available, think U2 spy plane we had for forty years but were told did not exist among other things.

The military is the first to review all patents at the Patent office and if it can be used anyway militarily or could be economically destabilizing,it is denied, shelved and the applicant is told they can not speak of it or risk imprisonment or worse.

It is because Big Oil (government) likes to keep what it has, rather than share the pie with others.(look at all the oil company mergers over the last 30 years since this was brought to light, there are only a small handful of major oil companies left, consolidation has also occurred in other areas such as communications, energy and especially agriculture,(remember Russia's Boris Yeltson took over YUKOS oil)that was nationalization of the oil company.

Russia: Kremlin Takeover of the Russian Oil Industry?
by Ariel Cohen (April 21, 2005)

In Russia these days, a lot of old is new again. In fact, the Russian oil and gas sector’s new paradigm can be summarized in two words: "state domination." The free market has been abandoned. For example, last December the tax authorities bankrupted YUKOS, a major oil company, for allegedly failing to pay taxes. The government sold YUKOS’ main production unit, Yuganskneftegaz, to the state-owned company Rosneft, using a straw company as an intermediary. Chinese state banks apparently financed the purchase with $6 billion in loans. To top it off, Rosneft is merging with state-owned Gazprom, the largest natural gas company in the world.

They will continue to do so till they figure out how to corner the next energy market, so their power will stay consolidated. (Think NWO)

They will do what ever it takes to maintain the status quo.

When oil owns the only game in town, everybody is forced to
play ($ pay $) in it.

Remember we have two BIG oil men in the white house.

The major media outlets are owned (controlled) by the countries (governments)in which there located, and the people are told what to believe.

The internet is slowly starting to change that, but I'm afraid this will come under attack also as the sheepeople begin to awaken.

Death to the NWO, because it will give GOD like powers to a few sick individuals who put us in this predicament in the first place.

I for one do not want some Inbred Royal Family or who ever (Elite) telling me how to live my life.

I do agree with the fact that overcrowding is a concern that needs to be addressed,as does increasing pollution by emerging countries .

( I know that sounds a little hypocritical considering thats how we (USA) became a great economic powerhouse of a country, good enough for us but no one else)

Just remember,

Control energy and you can control the country.
Control food and you can control the people.

Thanks

( I feel better now )

All supposed alternative energies are NOT worthless on the scale needed for empire(s),
-A meta-analysis of the research states otherwise.
-Only wind stands a chance (renewably speaking) - and that would take a $1,000,000,000,000 investment and mobilization on the scale of WWII...don't hold your breath.

We are only told what alternative energies are available, think U2 spy plane we had for forty years but were told did not exist among other things.
-Read one of my past posts backed by research on modern progress...it just isn't there.

The military is the first to review all patents at the Patent office and if it can be used anyway militarily or could be economically destabilizing,it is denied, shelved and the applicant is told they can not speak of it or risk imprisonment or worse.
-I'm not touching this one.

-Oil is power, and Russians like power just as much as anybody else.

-See above.

-State control assures power is held in state hands, and thus oil can be used as a weapon against the US. Of course China is going to help. They're everywhere when it comes to oil, especially if it helps to give us the shaft.

They will continue to do so till they figure out how to corner the next energy market, so their power will stay consolidated. (Think NWO)
-So.

They will do what ever it takes to maintain the status quo.
-So

When oil owns the only game in town, everybody is forced to

-You've got to pay if you want to play.

Remember we have two BIG oil men in the white house.
-Oil is power. And...

The major media outlets are owned (controlled) by the countries (governments)in which there located, and the people are told what to believe.
Many media outlets do not attempt to tell me what to believe. And guess what, I can tell the difference!

-We are the richest, most advanced and secure people of any time period in the entire history of mankind.

Just remember,

Control energy and you can control the country.
Control food and you can control the people.
-gasoline will have to hit $30-40 a gallon before I'm being controlled.
-I can't tell you how much food is down at the Super Wal-Mart, not to mention my basement.

No hard feelings, redneck. I just like a good debate.

No hard feelings taken.

I was just venting a little thats all.(nothing personal)

Just remember most things are incremental like the deprecation of the dollar over many years.

Did you read the book? It seems our government tried to do the same thing then back then.I can see Russia doing this, but that is not what the USA,I believe was founded on.(think individual rights and free markets)
Not trying to stall, smear and bankrupt a company as in Alaska.

Anybody remember oil shale?
There is still millions of barrels of oil shale waiting to be turned into oil, yet every time some company tries to turn oil shale into oil the price of crude drops and the oil shale operations grind to a halt.

Can oil shale be turned into oil cost effectively? With the way things are going I wouldn't be suprised if the Chinese discovered the formula to do just that and end up buying up US oil shale for their own use.

Oil Shale
You must be logged in to see this link.

Although the Estonian and Chinese oil shale industries continued to grow after World War II, most other countries abandoned their projects due to high processing costs and the availability of cheaper petroleum.[6][2][25][28] Following the 1973 oil crisis, world production of oil shale reached a peak of 46 million tonnes in 1980 before falling to about 16 million tonnes in 2000, due to competition from cheap conventional petroleum.[19][9] The global oil shale industry began to revive in the mid-1990s. In 2003, an oil shale development program was restarted in the United States. A commercial leasing program permitting the extraction of oil shale and tar sand resources on federal lands was introduced in 2005, in accordance with the Energy Policy Act of 2005.[29]
We could also liquefy coal. Thats old technology. And we have plenty of it.

We will use everyone else's easily available resources first .

Remember he who has the most resources (last resources) WINS......!!!

Sad but true.

-Excellent!

I was just venting a little that’s all. (nothing personal)
-See above.

Just remember most things are incremental like the deprecation of the dollar over many years.
-I just can't accept this argument. $100 still buys just about as much crap as it did when I was a kid. Sure, not as much gasoline or food, but consumption rates for those products are personal choices. If you live far from work, get a new job. If food is too expensive, stop eating so much more than you need to (just look at the people around you). Those comments were not aimed at you, redneck.

It's like cooking a frog in a pot of water,he won't jump out if you bring the heat up slowly, then all the sudden it's to late, your A_ _ is cooked....!

-Oil is too important to be left in the hands of internationalist businessmen with no national allegiances. They're not doing too well right now, are they?

-You wouldn't be the first person to call me arogant. I think content is more appropriate.
If I felt this "security", I wouldnt be hoarding pennies, I wouldnt be worried about a thing, I wouldnt have to worry about getting shot walking down my street.
-I'm sorry you chose to live in such a location (good thing we've got BlackWater training to control urban pops.). My neighbors don't scare me, and my hoarding is a last resort precaution only. Everything's going to be fine, just like the last 40 years of my life. If for some reason TSHTF, my street will be well protected.

(I'm opposed to gun control, how could I should back? my would-be killer has an illegal gun to begin with.)
-???

Richest? The US has how much debt?
-Not me. My debt is quite manageable!

Most "rich" (read as wealthy) are cheap, they also want to make money, the "rich" are normally very smart.
-Thank you (not rich, but well-off); and I'm NOT cheap! Ask anyone that has ever done business with me on this forum or eBay. I believe in sharing wealth at all times. I spend thousands of my own dollars a year on low-income kids and students in my school system (on top of volunteering my time, which could be used to make more money if I cared to - but time means more than money to this old goat). My family also contributes heavily to various charities (even donating time in food pantries). I strongly believe that God provides to those willing to help others.

The US government is not very smart...
Sometimes ignorance can be bliss. Just kidding. The government isn't dumb. They have well worked out plans like everybody else; not all plans turn out as expected, and nobody's perfect.

BTW on the financial note, I dont think the government should help Katrina victims like they did, where does the constitution say you have the right to live below sea level and get the government to give you money if a hurricane comes in?
-100% agreed! Fools build their homes on sand. Let them eat cake!

Smart? Why are so many college professors/doctors not American?
-Because so many average Americans lack motivation and determination. It's so much easier to watch American Idol, play video games, listen to iPods.
-Global(Darwin)ism is here. Get used to it. I love my female Indian Dr. (she treats me like a prince), and a Pakistani Dr. kept my son alive during a very scary period (I've been to his McMansion - Envious? Yes. Jelous enough to resent him? No. - I chose a more modest life, and he earned his fairly). It's a good thing somebody cared to study past a MS.

More and more, modern intelligence can be defined as the ability to observe even the most subtle changes in the environment, and to then be able to adjust to them accordingly.

Life is harsh.

Starwars... I was with you on almost everything until you said the government was dumb :).

I don't think they are dumb either. I would call it a lack of responsiblity. They have gone way beyond their grant powers and try to save people from themselves.

Just look at the spending! Wasteful and uncalled for.

`Everybody is ignorant. Only on different subjects.' Will Rogers

"This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists' tirades against gold. Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the "hidden" confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious process. It stands as a protector of property rights. If one grasps this, one has no difficulty in understanding the statists' antagonism toward the gold standard." Alan Greenspan, 1966.

Latest case in point, Myanmar. The local dictators there refused to let our aid in, so what does our governmedia do? They make it the cause-celeb-of-the-week. Don't get me wrong, I'm sorry that people are dead and/or suffering there..., but how is that OUR PROBLEM? We are BANKRUPT people, learn it - love it - use it in a sentence, OUR NATION IS BANKRUPT! Further, why are our leaders so eager to send our now precious grain to a nation 96% of the US has: 1)never heard of 2)has no cultural or societal ties to 3)couldn't give a rats ass about?

Could it be to keep the REAL CRISIS facing us out of the news?

Can anyone say Pravda?

You Americans did it to yourselves.

In the early 1980's, oil prices were high, America had a very large number of wells, particularly in the eastern US, which were producing small amounts of oil, and had been doing so for a very long time. In the Appalachian basin it is not uncommon for wells to produce for fifty to one hundred years, albeit at a low flow rate.

The Soviet Union was making a lot of money at that time. The Reagan administration was on a mission to bankrupt the Soviets, so they leaned on the Saudis to goose production. The Saudis complied, and soon the oil price was collapsing, and bang! The Soviet Union economy imploded, leading to the fall of the Berlin Wall and so on.

But there was an unseen cost (there always is). Tens to hundreds of thousands of wells in the US, producing a few barrels a day each, became uneconomic. And to close a well, you don't just turn it off. You are required to fill the hole with concrete so there are no leaks. These wells were eking out a living with $40 oil, but couldn't with $10 oil, so they were shut down. ANd the US lost nearly 8,000,000 barrels a day of production, which can only be recovered by redrilling those holes. But because the flow rates are so low, these wells cannot possibly recover the cost of redrilling them without massively higher prices of oil (if they had been left open, they would be economic, but to redrill them you would probably need $300-$400 oil).

That lost 8,000,000 barrels a day would have declined slightly since then, but not much because of the extremely long life of those wells. It would certainly come in handy now. But you should not look at it as a conspiracy--it was simply government short-sightedness, venality, stupidity, and incompetence.

Not all who wander are lost.

Why is it that people don't seem to understand the fact that 8,000,000 barrels a day is a drop in the bucket in terms of national/global consumption rates. Enough with Alaska too. It would only supply 1/10 of the US consumption (needed per day) for only 10-15 years at best. We need to start thinking about our children. Read about peak oil. We're not out of oil, but the economic (and perhaps military) competition is going to become even more intensified, as oil which is now HARDER AND MORE EXPENSIVE TO GET will flow to the highest bidders. Demand is increasing exponentially at the same time as supply is becoming static. It's really very basic math. I can see why so many would choose to bury their heads in the sand.

You Americans did it to yourselves. Mickeyman

We Americans (joe public) didn't do it to ourselves.

Our "supposed" elected government and (industry paid lobbyists) did it to us slowly and deliberately in order to consolidate the oil industry to a few large oil companies in the U.S. then to International companies.
"Oil" is an exclusive club for a exclusive few.

But you should not look at it as a conspiracy--it was simply government short-sightedness, venality, stupidity, and incompetence. Mickeyman

Do you thinks we live in a black & white world ,with no shades of grey ? (conspiracies)
Short-sightedness,why do you think we have government funded "taxpayer" Think Tanks
that are supposed to look out 10,20,50,100 years out?

Stupidity, and incompetence, this is the reaction of the uninformed to explain things that
they are not privy to be part of, (think) Need to know basis and you don't need to know.
Nothing in politics happens by accident.

Venality - that I agree with you.

Hindsight is 20/20.
We are not allowed to peak at future, thats for the privileged.

In Canada we have these think tanks that are supposed to look out for the long term. But what politician would propose a program whereby short-term pain (before the next election) leads to long-term gain (after the next election)? It would only reward those that are not currently political.

The only government I have seen do anything for the future (just lately) was the Singapore government, which began a fifty-year plan to increase its port facilities ten-fold. They stuck to it for at least the first ten to fifteen years (but I'm not sure if they kept it up). They were able to do this politically because the governing party knows they will never lose an election.

In the past, even North American governments acted with a long-term view. Locally, the Bloor viaduct was built much stronger and at a far greater expense than initially required because the government at the time foresaw that someday someone might want to add a subway across the bridge, which in fact happened fifty years later. Such foresight in government seems unimaginable today.

Not all who wander are lost.

Here's a good article on why the price of commodities are spiraling out of control.(fuel,food,etc.)
Guess who is behind this.Only they can make new rules that side step control measures that where placed to keep prices from being manipulated.

The price of crude oil today is not made according to any traditional relation of supply to demand. It’s controlled by an elaborate financial market system as well as by the four major Anglo-American oil companies. As much as 60% of today’s crude oil price is pure speculation driven by large trader banks and hedge funds. It has nothing to do with the convenient myths of Peak Oil. It has to do with control of oil and its price. How?

Somebody run the snopes check on this. I have heard that scientists actually made a successful run on controlled fusion and shelved it until they can bring it out at an opportune time.

A crazy idea of mine lately has been to equate a new currency standard with energy. Since most of our daily endeavors involve use of energy in one way or another, it is not far off the mark to think of conservation of energy on par with "saving" money or earning "interest". Shoot holes in y idea please as I have figured out how electric companies or oil companies would fit in with that new standard. Would they become the new Federal Reserve? I could see though that the work we do in our jobs would be paid in energy units of currency. Your labor would buy so many kilojoules.

BINGO! This is NOT a crazy idea Jerry... rather... you are seeing something true. I would make the case the ALL of our daily endeavors, not just most... involve the use or aquisition of energy in some way. This is not merely true for humans but for all living things... this is a basic paradigm of existence. Therefore ALL transactions of any kind should be analyzed and understood in terms of their energy relationships. For instance... we have massive resources of coal in this country... but a large part of it is in thin seams of an inch or two thickness beneath hundreds of feet of rock. It would take more energy to remove the coal than could ever be extracted from the coal... therefore it will NEVER be economical. Ditto with oil shales... ditto with corn-based ethanol.

The only problem with an energy based currency is that the various forms of energy are not equivalent. Electricity is generally considered a "higher" form of energy since it can be used for more purposes... like turning motors or running electronics... as well as heat.

The basis of our mutual interest here is metals. The value of metals is ENTIRELY a result of the energy needed to mine and refine them. Metals have value not merely because of scarcity (scarcity merely means that it takes more energy to get them) but because of the energy required in the processing of the ores to the final product. So with some calculation we could come up with an average number of kilowatt hours or joules or calories etc that would be embodied in a copper cent. Might be an interesting exercise!

This is a video of the man that wrote the book in the very first post.
Like a sermon, in true Southern preacher form, his speech is long at 75 minutes.
It is thorough, filled with firsthand account information. We need more men like Lindsey Williams to speak up about what they know.
He talks about how the IMF and World Bank manipulate Oil,Gold and about why we're going to go to War with Iran.

PEAK OIL....???

What a Joke....!!!

I personally learned something I never knew before.
At 1:11:35 in the video he talks about the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
The sacrifices these 56 men made for "Liberty" has given me even more respect for them than I had before. We could all learn a thing or two about what it took, and may take, to retake the Republic.

A quote;

A lady asked Dr. Franklin Well Doctor what have we got a republic or a monarchy — "A republic," replied the Doctor, "if you can keep it."
Anonymous, from Farrand's Records of the Federal Convention of 1787

Unfortunately not many people understand this.
