Mine is approximately $1.75 in pennies/minute, as I discovered on my first semi-major coin dump (about a $100). Anyone have better luck than I do?

I use a branch that has a coin counter behind the counter. I can't touch it, but I can watch them load it. I can only see it from the side, but it fills up a bag very quickly. Much faster than those lobby counters. I used to use one that did about 400 a minute, and I thought that was slow....You need to find another counter.

| I'm jealous of your bank coin counters in the US.. as far as I can tell there are pretty much no banks with coin counters here in Canada, only stupid coinstar for 9.8c/$. |

And the Coinstar website claims their machines do 600 coins a minute, but they really do about 300 coins a minute.
None of the banks around here have counters either, so I use my own counters to bag up my zincs. My big machine does 4,000 coins per minute and my 2 small machines do 1800 coins a minute each. All in the comfort of my home penny processing center.. running at the same time as I am loading more pennies into my Ryedale to sort. No waiting around at the bank for me. |

| 1.75 a minute? That took you close to an hour for the $100.Might have to rethink that if it is the case. |

Yeah, it did...But at least I got to chat up the manager who seemed like a nice guy.
I guess I will swing buy a couple other banks this saturday and see if they have any faster machines. |

| I would say that they do roughly $100 in 5 minutes - pretty quick really. |

| Just checked out this super sweet coin counter at a bank close by. It did nearly $20 of pennies in under a minute. Its one of the new machines with a flip lid and a spinning tray inside. The teller even told me that they dont have to change the bins out as much as the old machines with the bags. |

| The worst is the half dollar bags in the machines near me - they only hold $100 in halves - those bags could hold $500 easily and maybe be half full ... maybe ... maybe not even. |

| Last time i was at my dump bank their machince was able to get through $90 in about five minutes. I would really suggest looking around at different banks for a faster counter. Even the analog counter at my house is able to do at least 400/minute. |

If only.. If only some banks around me had some counters.. so I could look around. And so I could talk them out of bags of pennies!
Yeah, I think my old analog counter does 300-400 a minute too. |

| Well this is certainly frustrating to read about. Tomorrow I will definitely search out a better sorter. Shouldn't be too difficult, I have at least 20 banks withing 10 miles of me. |
