I thoght it might be interesting to start a thread just for reporting Indian Heads.

I found my third today. It is a 1893. I found it in a Brinks box. This is my third. I have sorted a total of $1200 face since starting in Jan. I found the last one 2 weeks and $200 ago.

This thread taunts me. But, there is always hope in the weekend sort.

"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

Misteroman, I swiped this last one right out from under your nose. It was in a Brinks box from Batavia. It was probably boxed in Buffalo.

I cracked $500 worth of rolls last night and found my second Indian Head in 2 or 3 weeks time - an 1883 in nice shape. Also found a 1910, 1916, 1919, 1920, 36S, 36D, 37S and a 37D. I also found what appears to be a 1946 circulated proof???

Iv'e only sorted 1MM and found 1 IH. It was in horrible shape - 1903. I
I'd rather have some of the more valuable wheats.

I would too. I have gotten an IH though. It was actually in decent shape but it was a 1900 one.

I need some depression era wheats and random dates from 1909 to 1928s with mint marks.

`Everybody is ignorant. Only on different subjects.' Will Rogers

"This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists' tirades against gold. Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the "hidden" confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious process. It stands as a protector of property rights. If one grasps this, one has no difficulty in understanding the statists' antagonism toward the gold standard." Alan Greenspan, 1966.

That 46 proof would be a rare coin indeed.. Probably just well polished. They made proofs from 1936 till 1942 and then didn't start making them again until 1950.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

It may be an error of some sort a buddy told me - it seems to be split, like a seam all the way around the edge of coin. It is an oddity. I need to research.
