Since I'm about to get a Ryedale Apprentice, I figured I'd better check to see the best place to order bags to hold large quantities of pennies. What companies or vendors would you guys recommend?

Google "banking supplies", "bank coin bags", and variations thereof. That should find you some good sites. I hand roll much of my copper and put it back in my saved 25 dollar penny boxes. Penny boxes stack and store easily.

"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

Best place to get them would be the banks.. if you can talk them into giving you some for free. If you order from a banking supply company be sure to factor in shipping. Some of them are kind of pricey on shipping.. just like ebay sellers. You might also consider canvas storage bags for your copper pennies.. they cost a little more but they look a lot nicer. I believe I read somewhere that the plastic coin shipment bags contain PVC.. which is bad for long term storage of copper. I can send you some green pennies if that is what you really want. I think I order banking supplies from generalbanksupply.com or something like that. They have the canvas bank bags for $1.10 each. They are also fairly reasonable on automatic coin wrapping paper. If you had an automatic rolling machine you could roll up your copper and store it in penny boxes. For bulk storage I like the kitty litter pails which you can get for free or the 19 gallon tubs with ropes that you can get at OSH.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.
