I've found a few dimes in bags.

But quarters?

Please, send me some of your unsorted pennies.

I'll trade you some 2008 zincs ;)

Bags are fun.
Lots of foreign stuff here and many dimes.
They also have a lot more dirt in them so be careful putting them through the Ryedale.

I asked a teller at my supply CR if they sold the coins from their coin counter, the loose bags of coins. She said "OH, no we send them to the fed, and you know...no we have the rolls for you."
She is a very nice Latina lady around 55 or so. I really don't think she knows what they do with them.
I am thinking about starting to dump at another branch of my CR. Rolling all these pennies is getting a bit old, and I think my hands are getting darker by the day.....

Could be worse... i asked for a bag of pennies at one of my local bank branches, and you would have thought i asked her for a transmission cable for a 1963 Chrysler... total incomprehension. Pennies? In a bag? Do we have any in the vault? What vault? What kind of bag? What are these "pennies" you speak of?

Can anyone tell me what banks will give you bags of coins before they send them back to get rolled?

Each branch of every bank sets it's own policies. You just have to have an account at several banks and ask at each and every one. Alas, none of my banks have machines so none of them have bags of pennies.

I agree that bags are more fun.. wish I could get some!

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

I received a blinky eyed, unknowing look like that the first time I asked for a box of halves. Half of what? Half a dollar? We don't tear dollars bills in half. That's wrong. Why would you want to do that? Oh, you're talking about some sort of coin? I have never heard of a half dollar coin. Are you sure we have "half-dollars" here (snicker, snicker like she the teller is dealing with someone trying to pull a prank).

"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

My favorite line from tellers is "we don't make change for people who aren't customers"

I always say "well if you sell me some pennies then I'll be a customer won't 'I?"

Doesn't usually help though.

Some banks don't seem to care to do business with non-account holders, so I guess they don't care too much about getting new account holders.
