Last week I bought 5000 copper pennies for only $54.98 w/shipping. I thought that it was a fake but he had good feed back, and so I took the risk and it payed off! What deals did you find and how much did you pay for it? Please list anything and everything!

You may be right. I track pretty much all the copper penny auctions, and I didn't see that one. So it is either BS or the title was really horrible.

I too am skeptical. If he got them shipped in for $54.98 that means the seller got $46.03 for $50.00 worth of pre 1982 pennies. I find that hard to believe. I search copper everyday. But as Hoard said it may have had a bad title without Lincoln or copper or cents in the title. If the title read "old coins" or something like that our searches for copper would have missed it.

COPPER - the "poormans" precious metal!!!

SELLING - $100.00 face copper shipped to you for $189.00 machine rolled or bagged - PM me if your interested.

Look, what would I get if I lied to you all, nothing. I told you how much I paid for it and that I found a great deal. There is still more out there you just have to get creative in your ebay search! Many people are selling things out there because of the news. They don't even know what they have because of lack of education in this area. So as a investor and a hoarder I'm going to look for that great deal. Stop expecting things to fall into your laps and start looking for that great deal there is plenty more out there. Like yesterday, I bought 12 quarters for $27, its worth is about $36 today, a savings of $9 Great Deal. Sorry guys, because of all your negative opinions I will not show the link.

Hector.... don't let the guys rattle you. A couple were a bit judgmental on their comment,
But it would be good for us to see this auction.

I can't see any reason why it would be hurtful to let us observe your good fortune.

Thanks and,
welcome to the forum!

Nice find hectorman! It reminds me of a time when a co-worker found a deal on a Walter Payton autographed football on EBay because they had misspelled "Payton" as "Peyton" so alot of people missed it. My friend got it pretty cheap, and I think he authenticated it so he knows it wasnt a fake.

I think some people owe someone an apology....

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

By the way were they all coppers? He said in the description that the dates were 1960's-1980's but also mentioned it was 35# so I am assuming it was all copper.

Yes Hector6man now that I have seen the auction you won I do remember seeing it. I did not save it on my watch list because it was for mixed Memorials, there is some zinc included. The auction description says: "Up for auction is a can containing at least 5000 un-searched but circulated common Lincoln Head cents. From what I can see, dates will be mostly from the sixties thru the eighties average circulation condition". The picture looks like the majority should be before 82 but you don't know he may throw a lot of post 82 pennies in the bag. I hope that the majority of them are copper for you.

And welcome to the forum, don't let your early experiences discourage you from contributing in the future.

After I won I thought that I made a mistake. After writing to the guy and reading his comments, I didnt think twice. Out of 300 only 3 bad comments and they never said wrong description or never sent the item described, so I sent him the money. Wow, was I happy to see all that copper. He said his uncle collected them and that the man passed (Sorry for you lost). The earliest penny I got was 1981, no 82. I found this cool penny that had JFKs head ingraved into it. Anyone know how much its worth? I tried to take a pic but my Sony camera would not focus in on it.

Congrats on getting a good deal. I am glad they were all copper. If the seller would have done a better job of describing them you wouldn't have gotten them as cheap as you did because I would have been bidding on them. As for the JFK engraved coin I don't think it is worth a whole lot. I have found a couple of them myself. There are a lot of different things engraved on coins and punched through them. I have gotten pennies with crosses and hearts punched through them.

today i got 6 standing liberty quarters for 22.50 shipped.
some in not too bad of shape.
to me...it was a good deal.
usually a poor item description gives the best deal.
last year i got 2 peace dollars 1922s and 1926s for 13.00 shipped.
i believe the description was "piece". the deals are there if you look in odd places.

Ok, my apologies hector - From a seller's perspective, I found your "great deal" a bit irritating is all.
