Coin wear has a lot to do with it, but all the numbers above seem right. A $50 bag typically weighs 34 pounds. 5000/34=~147 cents to a pound.

I usually use 150 per pound for estimates.. 300,000 per ton. That will get you pretty close. But I have several good high speed coin counters so I always do an exact count.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
