Any tips on banks that are more likely to take un-rolled zincs by the bucket? i'm near Charleston, SC, so we have lots of the Charlotte-based East Coast banks around...
Thanks

Considering Verizon Business service? Perhaps you'd like to consider a nice drain cleaner enema instead? |

The banks around me have whether they have a coin counter at the branch or not. One branch of a bank that I dont have an account with has a coin counter about 45 minutes from my house! Luckily my local every-day bank branch trusts us and takes them in bags. |

You really just need to get on the phone, or when you go into a bank ask the "merchant teller" if ANY of their branches have a coin counter. That will get the job done in a hurry. Every bank is different. One of my banks has a coin counter but they always have a sign on the front door "coin counter broken" But they somehow still take in coins because they always have a bag or two for me.
Another one of my banks told me that their main branch is the only one that has a counter. I have worked up a good relationship with them. I actually just got this email from their vault teller. quote: We now have six bags of pennies, if you want to have them tomorrow no problem.

That is a great email Dan!
They still don't have any near me yet, but it is no problem using my own counters to fill up the bags. I would love for banks around here to get some of those machines. Then maybe I could get some bags of loose pennies. |

One bad thing about them. They get so many cents I can not possibly buy all they get every week. I am not a big time hoarder like you.
One good thing, every bag is always canvas. I am getting quite a nice collection. |

Almost every one of them around here has them, but very few have the self service ones. I think there are only two that I know of and both are with the same bank company. |
My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

Maybe I should take a road trip down there and help you sort.. Have Ryedale, will travel. I can toss a couple of the Glory CN-12 machines in there for counting and maybe I will have the Brandt 777 machine with the big bin and coin conveyor working by then. We could do several $thousand in one weekend and split the copper. |

I'm still being lucky to get by with a single dump bank.
Today I dropped off another $175 in zinc, day-before-last it was only $150, hopefully by Friday I'll have at least another $100.
They haven't complained yet... |
