If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

About $250 now all sorted by hand. Also sorted by decade, and then I sort the 60's by date/mintmark ...yes I'm aware I have a problem.

My hoard is small... I wish you could edit your answer to the poll. At the rate mine has grown, I should be over a grand in copper by the end of the week. Unless my order comes in as all zinc.
eventually I plan on pouring all mine in the bathtub and laying in it!  |

| Well i have $150 worth but $75 of that is HCBTT and i am always trying to sell copper i do not have that big of a hoard, at one time i hope to make about $150 off of penny sorting and then take $100 out of my bank and turn that into copper for my own hoard. |

Dang, it looks like for a mere $501 penny hoard one could be in the top half of all serious penny hoarders.
Sorting by hand, however, on the average of only 20 to 30 boxes a year, it will take me awhile to get there. But, I will keep at it, just like Mr. Turtle vs. Mr. Hare. |

| I collect pennies and also sort copper pennies by hand. So although my hoard of coppers from sorting is small (around $500) I have hundreds of sorted by dates rolls of wheats and memorials. Also 100s of BU rolls on Zinc memorials. |

I'm very close to $1,000 and will be over that amount by this weekend.
I had initially set aside $3,000 to buy pennies with and will sort until all that is converted into copper.
I figure this will put me right over 1 ton, at which point my penny purchases will have to be scaled back or I will have to start selling copper to fund them.
I don't plan on stopping until the percentages drop so low that it is no longer worthwhile, which hopefully won't be for at least another year or longer. |
