When ever I get a CWR I take the the paper rolls and throw them in a sack in case I need to use them later. But since I never had to roll my coppers or zincs (there was test drives rolling my copper for storage and returning my zincs with a huge 'ZINC' in marker on them but they failed to speed up hoarding) they never get used.

I know that the Cointainer and royal sover. rolls are nice and expensive so kept those for the longest time but is there any reason to? It seems easier to break the rolls in half and throw them away rather than keep them.

What do you guys do with yours?

Use the papers to start the fire. I never get the others where I am.

I use the Cointainer and RS rolls to roll a few rolls manually for the 8 rolls I swap out from our Loomis coin drop at work every day. If I swap the rolls I roll up with my machine they end up going to back to the bank on the daily pickup and then come back to me in a future coin drop. If I sent them manually rolled coins they never come back.

I also use the paper rolls (wholes and halfs that I broke) and the plastic Brinks wraps to fill up Tyvek bags and make packing pillows for when I send out shipments.

I save them and use them as packaging material much like styrofoam peanuts, but they're free and you might as well re-use them. One guy that bought pennies from me on Fleabay actually complained that it looked like trash. Someone on the forum here had a great suggestion, put them in a free USPS Tyvek envelope and seal and use that as the packing material.

Yeah, putting them in the Tyvek envelopes and using them as packing pillows really works well. You stuff the bags to whatever level you need to pack your stuff. Folks don't like it much if they are loose and fly everywhere when you open the package like those ghost turds.. ummm.. I mean styrofoam packing peanuts. I am being environmentaly sensitive reusing them like this.

I break open paper rolls and throw them away.

I bought 3000 cartridge type penny rolls in case I need to roll some zinc for deposit.

Call me wasteful I guess.

Those cartridge rolls are kind of expensive. I just buy 1000 foot rolls of rolling paper.. much cheaper. Each roll will wrap 2000 rolls.

I have always tried to save the paper rolls for future use, but I never seem to have a need for them. I like the packing peanut idea, and I might try it with the ones I have.

The packing peanuts was a vey interesting idea, never thought of that.

But it seems outside of that they don't have any use. I guess I will hold on to them and keep compressing them into boxes and I might be able to sell a box for a quarter at my garage sell.

Cheers, Robarons

I have actually seen used coin wrappers sold on eBay before. I guess I probably shouldn't have said that.. now everybody will be selling them there.

I use them as scrap paper for notes. Just split down the seam, and you have a handy piece of paper for phone numbers, small shopping lists, and so on.

Keep them for a while, then when too many I throw them away. The "good" crimped end ones I save for the gas rolls....

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

I used to save all the rolls I got and reused them back when I extensively rolled coins. Now, I just save the crimped ones and discard the flat one seeing I don't roll much now.

Just for fun I will count up a bunch and do it. I think the starting price will be really low. I will post a link to the auction in the Buy/Sell section.

Maybe I can set the record for the highest price ever realized for used penny wrappers.

Well you can get 1000 new for $4 at a couple of bank supply shops.

Don't throw them away people.. Mail them to me. :) I have to reroll the pennies for deposit.

Yeah, but have you checked the shipping charges at some of those bank supply shops? Some of them are worse than some eBay sellers.

I'm sure many of us would be willing to ship them to you.
