I know I have seen other threads and posts about this topic but the search isn't being much help. If you have those threads bookmarked could you please post the link?

Anyway what do you guys use to count your coins? I've looked around at a couple of different places locally but everything seems to be too small scale or not have counting abilities, just sorting. Are there any good counters out there that won't break the bank?

You mean count or roll or both? I just count and roll by hand :D An automatic counter costs quite a bit, ask HCBTT.

They don't cost all that much.. Counters are kind of like dragracing.. Speed is just a matter of money.. how fast do you want to go? Counters are definately more plentiful and cheaper than automatic rolling machines.

I do most of my counting on my 3 main machines.
A De La Rue Mach 7 - Sorts and counts 4,000 coins per minute.
2 Glory CN-12 machines - Each counts 1,800 coins per minute.

I also have a Glory minisort - 500 coins per minute.
and a Downy Johnson analog counter - about 300 coins per minute.

My 2 Glory WS-10 automatic wrapping machines will also free count 1400 coins per minute each.

You can generally find a good used major brand counting machine in the $200-300 range.

i picked up a ribao cs-10 cheap a few months ago. it counts around 1800 coins a minute. you set it for the specific coin you want to count and it offsorts everything else. all i use it for is counting so i dont need an actual sorter. i see a few new ones on ebay now but mine was half that.

I've been thinking of getting a rolling machine just so I can take some zincs back and exchange them instead of the big bags I plan on taking in.

So that's why you were asking me about that model..

Nice 11 second snipe bid! It's not a 12, but I think you got a really good deal on it. Congrats.

Real rolling machines are kind of pricey Derek. Usually much easier to take them in by the bag if your bank will accept them that way. Good counting machines are much cheaper than good rolling machines.

Hoard -
I'm considering a scale instead of a counter. What's the kind you have?

I have an Ohaus Emerald for single coins and rolls and a postal scale that goes up to 72 pounds that I usually have set in the gram setting to check box weights. I hear the Royal is one of the best scales if you are going to do large quantities of coin by weight instead of count.
