I was leary to buy too much when it was around $20/oz so I bought some...
Now that it is down, I'd buy some, but its been down $.60/day lately. Gold has is below 900/oz now. So... What are you guys doing? Are you buying more right now or are you trying to wait till it hits the bottom and then your going to but it up?

| I've been buying as much silver as possible per paycheck every two weeks, mostly on eBay until I get settled after the move and can find a coin dealer in Kentucky. I think $20/oz. is my comfort threshold, and if I can't get silver at or below spot when it's below $20, I plan to split the cash I'd otherwise use to buy silver and sit on it in the bank for a moment. I'm planning to get a Ryedale machine as soon as I get moved, then put money toward copper unless I can get silver at a decent price. I guess I'm more of a silverbug at this point than a copperhead. |

| I'm always buying when I'm in the big city, but I have about $5,000 I'm holding off on spending until I see prices fall some more. |

Me too Deal. I don't even know what silver is at today because the Kitco on my home page is down again but I'm thinking we may see $15.00 silver or lower this late spring or into summer. We are going into the traditional low season for PMs. I don't know why, but PMs often if not always take a dip then. I have learned the hard way to hold off on my big buying until then. That is not to say PMs can't hit the moon this spring/summer, but it's a chance I'm willing to take right now. That could change tomorrow. |

| I am holding for now and trying not to puke. I have considered buying more, but so far have not pulled the trigger. Just remember that the average Joe was selling gold and silver during the last run-up. This is exactly opposite of what should happen at the top of an irrationally exuberant market. So I don't think we are cooked yet (of course anything is possible). Meanwhile, I'll take another kick to the gut please... |

Having cash on hand to take advantage of sudden opportunities is a great strategy, Ardent. I do the same, yet I am still buying Au every two weeks like clockwork. It really doesn't matter what you pay if you're planning on holding it for twenty years. |

| Buying Ag like crazy over here and plan on holding for the long term unless it goes to $25 in the near future, then I might sell a small percentage of it. I like the security of having physical silver and a little gold in my hoard. |

| I agree with starwarsgeek buying up as much as you can afford is the way to go.If you can sit on your hoard comfortably for a good number of years you can't really lose.remember unless we start mining on the moon or mars there is only so much metal to be had. |

| Right now I only buy the really good deals I can find(usually cheap sterling and gold filled items). But,I'll be graduating this May, then every spare penny will be going into metals for the next couple of years. |

| If you study the charts from 2000 to present you will see that silver jumps in winter of even numbered years, drops in spring back to the high of the previous year, and bounces from one number to the other the rest of the time. In other words, silver will go from $16 to $21 several times in the next 18 months, and then it will make another spectacular rise. Plan accordingly. You can do about as well with a lot less excitement by holding gold for the same period, putting extra funds into silver. |

| I buy at least a little silver every week, even if it's just a few Quarters or dimes. I also roll search for copper. It's kind of funny, but most of my silver coins come from selling scrap metal! Whenever I take in a load I always buy Gas for my truck, and some silver for my small hoard! |
Are you throwing that out? |

| I'm buying copper cents now. I don't know where you guys get your money but if I'm saving or hoarding $100-$150 a week in cents I don't have a lot of extra cash to work with. |

Whenever I go to the scrapper, I always use the cash I get to buy precious metals. I get a kick out of "trading up" from trash-heap scrap metal to something like .999 fine silver.

That's how I got started in all of this. I sold some scrap, there was a lot of copper and a couple hundred pounds in batteries. I then wanted to invest that money in some metal. The first coins I bought were a $50 gold eagle and a proof 1987 silver eagle. This was just a couple months ago. Now, I've got some more silver, and I've got a ryedale, coin counter, and am sorting a lot of copper. I need more scrap!!
I forgot to mention, all copper was legally attained by me from work. Copper data wire and things. Batteries have been sitting in my garage for a while. |
