The majority I get are copper too. I seem to average roughly 65 per $25 box that are 1982 coppers and maybe about 25-30 are zincs. Unfortunately I didnt see any mintage figures listed in the Redbook so maybe the mint didnt publish the figures when the change was made.

I think I read somewhere a long time ago that they switched about half way through the year and it was roughly 50/50. Results from members here that have done some pretty large samples have yielded 75-80%. Could just be a survivability thing. We all know copper pennies are built better than zinc pennies.
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

I just processed about $15 worth of 1982's I got from a guy....they were 80% copper. I remember hearing the mint made the change around late October 1982....and my samples support this.....
