I went to a local bank after selling $50 in cents for $100 (trying to make up for the Ryedale I just got) and purchased $125 in cents.. Four of the boxes were unopened, and one was. I checked out the four to make sure there were no duds and good thing there wasn't.. That one box that was opened originally, was a box full of customer wrapped cents (I was stoked until I ran them through the Ryedale). Needless to say, I found about a handful of copper cents in that box (literally, I found 8 copper cents).. I'm pretty unhappy about a local hoarder not marking them with ZINCS or something along those lines on the wrapper..
I think we (as hoarders) should create a universal code for zincs that are being deposited. If Andy is into making rubber stamps, maybe he can make one that says this "DON'T BOTHER, WE'RE ALL ZINCS". This will save us a lot of time. ** I'D BUY IT **
Speaking of time, thank you for taking the time to read this. DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN LOCAL HOARDER(S)!

When I rolled my zincs, I marked them with streaks of red marker. |

I do not return boxes these days.....just dump zinc in lobby coin machines....but back when I was wrapping....I'd mark the boz with Zmmddyy.....today would be Z032608.
All hoarders should strive to dump in dump machines...do not roll and return if possible....better to mass dump and hope for general population blending. |

I mark every roll of steel CDN nickels "2K+" for year 2000 plus. I don't want to resort my own sorted rolls ever. Can't find a coin machine to dump in. Need to do more research on that problem.

Imagine how you would have felt if you were hand sorting that box. Why didn't you check the CWR box for duds? |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

I mark mine with X's on the side of the penny roll, for example (X=50=PENNY=X). That is how my rolls look! So if you see X's, they all have zinc's in them... |
