How many collectors here have significant others that understand and support what we are doing? Do you have a succession plan if something were to happen and we checked out early? Would they cash in your hoards or pass them along to the next generation?
I have already begun the process of creating three seperate collections, two that my sons will take control of when they become established (maybe earlier if I "check out early" - My wife would take my personal collection) and one for me to continue to enjoy. The older boy will get the numismatic collection and the silver, while the younger boy will get the gold and the copper. I'm quite sure that both of my boys will be lifelong collectors/hoarders.
