I do most of my sorting at night after the kids go to bed, and before I do. Usually between 9 and 11 p.m. I can manage to sort around $50 in that amount of time, if I have that much to sort. I'd be interested in hearing when everyone else does their sorting.

I usually sort between 9 and midnight after I get home from work. Sometimes I do some sorting on weekends, but I usually get in touble at home when I do that.. LOL!

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Between 2pm and 9pm. I make sure to have the Ryedale shut down no later than 9 so the neighbors in the adjoining apartments can't complain.

One neighbor asked what the noise was one day when I saw her in the hall. I told her it was a pachinko machine and she just smiled.

When I can make the time. That is when a Ryedale comes in real handy. Maximize my sorting for the amount of sort time I have.

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Usually during the day on Saturdays after I picked up a box or two. But normally I dont do it all in one sitting, and I might do the rest in the early evening. No Ryedale here yet.

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

I sort on my days off usually; that is when I get I get my pennies most of the time. Sometimes on lunch break I may pick up a coiuple boxes (like today). I try to sort around 12:00-3:00 PM. Tonight I did sort two boxes, however.

Sorting is like meditating for me, so I like to get an hour or two in every night after the kids are in bed. No more than a box a night for me, as I don't want it to become a chore. Tonight will be especially fun as I'm looking through rolls from a "drive-buy".

I'm only two weeks into this so my habits aren't set yet, and maybe as early as next week I'll be ordering the Ryedale (it just depends on my wife's permission to do so before we physically receive our tax refund, if I have to wait until it comes in it might be a few more weeks).

So far I've been hand sorting in the evenings, but twice I've woken up at 1 or 2 A.M. and couldn't get back to sleep so I spent an hour or two sorting then.

Right now I've got $75 waiting to be sorted, so I'll spend some time this evening sorting.

Did she even know what a pachinko machine was? Those are pretty noisy. If any one asks me I will say I am tumbling some rocks or the wife is sewing. So far no complaints, that I know of.

I will usually only run my ryedale and then coin counter during daylight hours on the weekend. If I close my door neither machine can be heard in the next room or on the patio.

Usually after work and on weekends for me as well. I also find it to be rather meditative and find myself wishing I could be sorting during hectic times at work.

As far as noise, I have been concerned about that in my apt but no one has said anything yet. I also have an AC unit on the other side of the wall from my Ryedale so I think that cancels out the sound :)

Too bad I don't have a beach-house. I would LOVE to sit on a patio overlooking the ocean and sort ;)

Los Angeles is the place I call home...

Good thing it's still very cold here in Wisconsin. I'm told by my wife that if I continue to "crack open" the rolls by whacking them on the sharp edge of my office desk, I'm going to be delegated to the garage as soon as the temps are above 50 deg. This edict may be in effect 24/7 on the home front. Hints welcome on silent roll opening.

Here in Wisconsin, we have some of the highest property and gasoline taxes in the US. We're squeezed so much, I have to make my daughter wear penny boxes for shoes. At least she has an endless supply.

I've already been relegated to the garage. So I insulated it and sheetrocked it.. I even have an oil based space heater out there.. though it is rarely chilly enough to turn it on. Be careful where you whack.. you can chip your desk that way.. use a metal plate or the edge of a kitty litter bucket. I have a really great heavy duty steel workbench out in the garage that works great for whacking. You can hardly hear the whacking over the sound of the Ryedale sorting, the counting machine bagging the zinc and the rolling machine rolling up rolls all simultaneously. For stealth roll opening it depends on what type of rolls you have.. for CWR just open the end and pour them out, for paper wrap just peel them open, for Brinks plastic wrap tear a little place on the end, then bend them with your thumb and squeeze them out. I can generally open them faster than the Ryedale can sort them but not fast enough to feed 2 Ryedales.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
