Hello All,
Lets try to track the secret CWI box numbers. Please report your area (roughly, IE State, or general area SW, NW, Etc. ) and the number of the CWI (short for Coin Wrap Incorporated) on the bottom. Perhaps we can isolate the centers. With enough Data we can
Also if you Google/Yahoo search CWI or Coin Wrap Incorporated we can probably find the CWI centers with respect to their locations in the country. If anybody has information that'S helpful to the Penny Hoarders please feel free to reply. Andy

I read on their site that they operate 35 offices nationwide....They could really put a dent in the Cu if they wanted. Might as well crank it up ourselves just in case they do jump into the pool....

I think it might also be good to report the name of the bank where the box came from and the armored carrier.

Two weeks ago I thru away a box flap with the CWI # but I know it came from Southern California Credit Union and Dunbar (Montebello, CA) delivered it.

Also I just visited You must be logged in to see this link. and in their contact page they ask if you are interested in information on COIN STAR. Do they own this company? A good way to get all the coppers they want and probably already seperated at the amchine.

Can you fill me in? Who are CWI? Do they do the wrapping for Brinks? ALl the boxes I get are Brinks...or ?NF & SOns...

The brinks boxes have a number stamped on the paper tape that seals them, but is that the CWI #?
Thanks

On cwi numbers this what I know on them. Its means on what state or town they sell them in. I dont know intire breakdown and coinwrap will not talk about on there website.

My gold dollar box I bought came from Jacksonville Floidia. Cwi was 103 on box.
All my boxs on coins from from pennys to Halfs . It says cwi 69 its all coins I get around houston texas .

Your correct they work for us mint. All new coins like 2007 denver pennys and 2008 pennys, nickels, New dollars coins come from coin wrap inc . I never seen brand new coins in Bricks box like cwi boxs are when found.

Other than that I dont know much. Maybe you post your city and state with cwi numbers we can find out where they are at?

I love those fed boxes and hoard up pre 64 silver coins such as rolls of 64 half dollers. Maybe copper will be very expensive such as silver is.

I have seen new uncirculated coins in Brink's boxes, but it is not common and I have never seen them as solid boxes. Way back almost a year ago I got a couple of Brink's boxes that were 50% new 2007 pennies. It was like Brink's had dumped a bunch of new pennies in with the old ones.

I guess the other possibility is that a collector was searching 2007s for errors and dumping them in mass, but in any case there was way too many of them in the boxes to just be from normal penny circulation.

But I agree 100% that if you are interested in getting UNC pennies, you need to find a bank that does not deal with Brinks boxes.

My Brinks boxes seldom have anything printed on them. Just brown tape that seals them. Maybe that means something too?

Same here....Sometimes a single number written with a black marker. Assuming just the box count or something.

That sounds like Loomis. I like to save the boxes too. Sometimes it feels like I am breaking into a vault the way they glue those boxes.

As stated before, my Brinks boxes do come with a number code... I've seen at least three: #45(found one ALMOST dud box), #137(at least 3 dud boxes), #173(maybe one dud box...can't recall).

And they have dates too.

This box was amazing....1360 1959-1982 coppers (54.4%) plus 37 wheats (2 from 1917), and 15 Canadian pennies. Location: Madison, WI

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

Yep you are in a different Federal Reserve district than me, so mine come from Chicago, IL. The line in Wisconsin is about from Lacrosse to Green Bay and anything north of that is with Minneapolis and anything south is with Chicago.
