A development to keep an eye on in the near future.....

"The new thin-film solar modules are based on a wafer-thin, semiconducting absorber layer made of copper, indium, gallium, sulphur and selenium, and are just half the thickness of a human hair and almost a hundred times thinner than a silicon cell."
If these solar cells live up to their developer's expectations, then the demand for these cells, as well as the demand for copper to make these cells, will increase in the years ahead.
(Copper bull market, anyone?)
