I plan to hoard X amount of coppers but I do have limited funds. Plus I plan on buying a Ryedale(sp?) within the next couple of months and investing in some silver also. So Ill be looking to sell off some of my coppers to offset the cost of the Ryedale and the silver for hoarding.
Anyone know the best place to sell coppers? Or even know a place that trades silver for coppers?
*It sucks being poor lol. Realistically I could hard say 1k worth of pennies a year. Anymore than that and it would cut into my livelyhood. I want to be able to hoard more than that and silver also so the only way to do that would to be able to make some on my sortings.
One alternative would be to not buy the Ryedale and continue to hand sort. Man that would be alot of hand sorting though lol
Any suggestions? Any other financially challanged hoarders out there?
Thanks -K

| we compete so sell copper when we need to so telling you a source cuts into our sales and lets you create competition. many on here will buy your pennies however for 1.4 cents per* at current prices for CU |

I'm financially challenged as well---but I manage ok since I save more than I spend. I have a goal to have X amount of coppers, and then be done with my Ryedale. (I'm getting near the end actually!)
I love my Ryedale, but I wouldn't recommend one to anyone who may not be able to afford it. Make sure you're willing to make the full commitment before you buy. And if you do decide to get a Ryedale, have fun!!
At this point, hoarding copper pennies is more speculative than profitable. Selling on ebay is probably the best place to sell copper pennies, but you must contend with the hazards of ebay, including the chance that you may not get as much as you'd like. The prices people are willing to pay on ebay closely follows the spot price price of copper.
Copper pennies aren't yet as liquid as gold or silver---but we're anticipating they will be someday.
Since you're on a budget, I'd suggest setting some realistic goals. Thankfully, sorting coins is a hobby that won't break the bank. It may even make you a profit.
The problem, though, is having enough funds to buy the coins you intend to sort. Good luck, klava. I know how challenging it can be to sort on low funds. |

| IMO,1.4-1.5 X face is currently a good price if the buyer pays the shipping or takes delivery. If you are able to move a considerable ammount at that price then it would be well worth buying a Ryedale now. |

Thanks everyone. Art i wasnt trying to get any of your secret places to sell lol. I will be in alot better place financially in a few months. After I get out from under some of my debt and things will be alot easier. Mayeb I should be looking really hard at halves atm. I could hoard the 90%ers and sell off my 40%ers that would open up a small cash flow to hoard pennies with. Im looking at all options and again like I said I will be alot better off in a few months. I think I will just hand sort until then. Even do alot of nickels. I like thse war nickels lol
