I finally did it. I was able to get FREE coin counting for my zinc returns with a small $100 deposit (I don't even think that they had a minimum balance). The bank was called Domestic Bank located right inside my local Super-WalMart, and I was treated very well. The bank is open 7 days a week!!! It is also right on the way home from work, so that means that gasoline is not a factor anymore. To top it off, they even gave me free Tupperware. I'm thinking I may just start depositing the zinc returns there as an emergency cash fund.

Plus you have an added bonus.... I have several banks that offer to let me use their carts to cart out the coins but you can use the shopping carts to push your large dumps in!!!!!

Hey!, anyone ever try to get bags of pennies from Wal Mart??? you have to figure they go through more cash than most banks...& I see brinks trucks there all the time,...... hmmmmm?

Happy Prospecting!

I used to get rolls of pennies from Walmart. Then they came up with some 'new' policy that they never give out coinage nor could they.

That is great starwarsgeek! Getting rid of zincs is the hardest part of the equation and you have found an ideal place. You don't even have to count them, bag them or roll them. I am envious. But I am also happy for you.

You know you can use that Tupperware to sort or store pennies <G>

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

I used to get coin rolls from Wal-Mart weekly. I stopped when they had nothing but the new stuff. It's been a while since I received a copper penny as change at my local Wal-Mart.

HoardCopper, the Tupperware even came with a small vacuum pump; it would seem to be ideal for silver storage. PennyProspector, my aging back will appreciate the carts!

Now that's interesting! WalMart would give you rolled coins? What quantity and for what purpose? They pretty much had to be coins that they received from the bank / armored carrier, but never used -- surely they weren't rolling the coins they took in from customers? Now THAT would be quite an interesting source of street coins....
